Salary Guide: £25K

 

Role Overview:

To Set up and run Environmental & Reliability tests on a variety of products.  Writing of test results and reports in detail. Maintain a close liaison with all departments and be able to demonstrate an understanding of requirements. To assist in the maintenance of test equipment & the facility.  To develop and manufacture new test equipment.  Assist with work scheduling & forecasting.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Product Qualification – prepare and conduct tests to assess product performance, reliability and safety

Involved with the following activities within the Environmental, Reliability & Test facility:

: Setting up and running tests using all available machines

: Accurate recording of test data and results including build status, part issues, software versions etc

: Involved with the on going development of the facility and the introduction of new tests, equipment and processes.

: Conducting preventative maintenance on test machines.

: Ensuring that good housekeeping is maintained within the facility

: Maintaining a general knowledge within the Environmental / Reliability / Test industry

  • Quality policy & Specifications – ensure all activities and tests are within the scope of the relevant policies /specifications
  • Personal training – identify additional training appropriate for current or future work.

Experience / Knowledge & Skills

  • Will have a recognised qualification within an appropriate engineering discipline, e.g. C&G , NVQIII , ONC/D , TEng Accredited Chartership

     

The following would be essential:

- 5 Years + experience in environmental testing or work within a laboratory.

- Experience of mechanical / electronics & manufacturing.

The following would be preferable, but are not essential:

- Experience or interest in boating, knowledge of the marine industry 

  • Analytical approach to problem solving

  • The ability to work unsupervised
  • Willing and able to learn quickly
  • Inquisitive
  • Self starter
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • After initial training period, shall have the necessary knowledge & skills to carry out job with minimum supervision.
