Nominations for the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year and Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year awards will open at 12.30pm on Friday 12 September 2008, on the Raymarine stand G88 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. Current title holders Sir Robin Knox-Johnston (Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year) and Laurence Greenough (Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year) are expected to be among those opening the call for nominations
Raymarine will be launching a selection of new products on stand G88 at the Southampton Boat Show. New at the show will be Raymarine's Super HD Digital radar, designed to operate with the G Series or E Series. Legendary navigator Dag Pike has won the 2008 Round Britain Offshore Power Boat race. The gruelling conditions and dramatic weather changes meant Dag had to rely firmly on his Raymarine equipment to help make navigational changes to maximise the opportunities during the eight leg race. 'Blue FPT' finished the race with a total elapsed time of 20 hours, 36 minutes and 47 seconds.
