02 January 2007 ~ Raymarine will be unveiling a new stand with significantly increased space for visitors at the Collins Stewart London Boat Show. The Raymarine stand has been completely redesigned by Oxford-based contractors Dijon Designs to fit onto a reduced footprint, while offering more space for visitors, staff, and providing more product demonstration areas.
For the first time Raymarine will be using a double height stand, which has increased standing and seated area, and a larger number of demonstration panels. These have been realistically designed to replicate typical systems on board a variety of types of vessels from the smaller day boat or fishing boat through to racing yachts, powerboats and superyachts.
Visitors will be able to see and try out all the Raymarine products from the stand alone A series, designed for smaller craft, up to the latest and largest G170 and G190 multi function displays. The demonstration areas will show how Raymarine products can operate as stand alone items, for example a hand held VHF radio, through to fully integrated systems designed to meet specific requirements such as racing, fishing, and blue water cruising. From the LifeTag man overboard security system, to the full range of autopilots, chartplotters, fish finders and navigation software, Raymarine’s stand has been designed to enable visitors to see, demonstrate and understand how all the products operate and integrate, and all within a familiar marine setting.
Large plasma screens around the stand will be used as eye-catching tableau to highlight new products on show for the first time. Raymarine will also be using the additional space available to host events including talks by round the world sailors Paul and Sheryl Shard, and the finalists and winners of the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year and Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year. Elsewhere in the show, Raymarine is also sponsor of the Raymarine Fog Tunnel which has been equipped with 24 Raymarine radar and plotter screens, and is designed to show visitors, who may never have used a radar before, the basic skills needed to navigate safely using radar through a thick bank of fog.
