Moody Yachts selects Raymarine systems for world debut Moody 45

29 February 2008 ~ The Moody 45 DS, making its world debut this weekend, has been fully equipped with a completely integrated navigation system from Raymarine combining information, navigation, safety and communications equipment. Raymarine’s AIS250 receiver, which monitors both Class A and Class B transmissions, is just one of the information sources on board designed to help boat owners stay safe.

On Friday 29 February, Premier will be unveiling the Moody 45 DS in Hamble, followed by a launch party at the Royal Southern Yacht Club, where an exclusive audience will be able to see the brand new yacht first hand before she makes her way up river for members of the public to view from Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd March at Swanwick Marina, Swanwick.

The Moody 45 DS is fitted with two Raymarine E80 high performance multifunction displays – one at the main helm station, the other at the chart table. As well as providing easy to use, highly visible essential navigational data, the powerful E Series data displays are customisable enabling users to select full screen or split screen viewing and the exact information they wish to see in each.  Compatible with Navionics Gold and Platinum cartography, the E80s display crystal clear charts which can be overlaid with AIS target information acquired through the AIS250 receiver and radar information via the 2kW radome.

Dual autopilot control heads have been fitted – ST7002 at the helm and the ST6002 at the chart table - making pilot control quick and easy; the autopilot also interfaces with the E80 multi-function display and wind instruments enabling the pilot to steer the 45DS to a pre-set route or track or the wind angle. The ST60+ Tridata, Graphic and Wind displays give instant access to speed, depth, wind and heading data in an easy-to-view format; the instruments also interface with the E80 ensuring the owners of the Moody 45 DS have up to date information at their command.

VHF duties are covered by the feature packed Ray240E DSC VHF radio; this cell phone style VHF radio integrates with other Raymarine products onboard and enables users to call other DSC users direct using the MMSI number, to poll the position of other users via the GPS interface, and to transmit a digital Mayday; including the vessel's identity, position, time and nature of distress - all vital information, the accurate transmission of which can dramatically increase chances of a successful rescue compared to a traditional Mayday call.
