Experience the latest Raymarine equipment first hand on the water
Thursday 12 March 2009 - Visitors to RIBEX will have the opportunity to see the latest Raymarine equipment aboard two ‘state of the art’ Raymarine equipped vessels. Both the RYA’s new 8.8m Ribcraft and Team Pulsar Racing’s Humber Quinquari 10m Offshore RIB will be available for product demonstrations. Both vessels feature fully integrated systems of cutting edge navigational technology, helping enhance situational awareness and safety on the water.
The RYA’s new 8.8m Ribcraft RIB will be on the water providing visitors with FREE taster training sessions. The Raymarine equipment on board includes two E120 multifunction displays, 2kW radar and an AIS250 (Automatic Identification System) which shows the identity and movements of other vessels in the vicinity. There will also be the chance to see the new SPX autopilot in action.
For those looking to equip their boats with the latest in marine electronics, then the Raymarine stand at RIBEX will provide you with the solution.
Local Raymarine service agent, DG Wroath, will also be on hand to offer technical advice on everything from upgrading existing systems to specifying new installations.
Attracting particular interest from RIB owners, the new Raymarine A series is a feature packed chartplotter or chartplotter/fishfinder that comes in five versions with three different screen sizes.
With strikingly clear high-resolution display, embedded (on some models) Navionics cartography and brand new engine interface, the integral high-sensitivity GPS antenna makes for a neat and compact profile, and the innovative quick-release swivel-mount bracket means that the unit can be quickly fitted and easily removed for security.
But for those whose ambitions are focussed on bigger challenges, RIBEX will also feature Team Pulsar Racing’s new Humber Quinquari 10m OffshoreRIB. The team are continuing their use of Raymarine equipment following their double trophy winning success in the 2008 Round Britain Powerboat Race. The boat will demonstrate the navigation, communication, and safety equipment system required for high speed and long distance racing. Fitted with Raymarine’s new C Series Widescreen multifunction displays, the boat has been specially designed to enable the navigator to operate the system using a remote keyboard, while restrained tightly in his seat with a five-way safety belt. When averaging speeds of 50 knots, it is vital that key navigational, safety and engine information is easy to see and quick to update, and this is achieved thanks to the superior processing power and high clarity colour screens of Raymarine’s latest displays.
So whether looking for a RIB taster experience or choosing the new equipment required for your boat a visit to Raymarine’s stand at RIBEX is a must.
