Raymarine appoints Manager of Business Development

September 2006 ~ Raymarine, the global leader in the manufacture and supply of marine electronic products to the leisure boating market has appointed Michelle Salter as Manager of Business Development. Reporting directly to Raymarine CEO Malcolm Miller, Michelle will spearhead the company’s activities regarding potential acquisitions, as well as research and structure partnerships and collaborations with companies and organisations across the marine industry.

 
Michelle said, ‘This new role demonstrates the importance placed by Raymarine on developing, managing and integrating external resources to complement the company’s existing product research, design, manufacturing and distribution skills. It is also an opportunity to capitalise on the tremendous growth and change that Raymarine has embarked on in the last few years specifically with the regard to constructing and developing teams to manage the business.’

 
Prior to taking on this role, Michelle worked for the Director of Supply Chain, heading a department of six project managers and two buyers responsible for the supply chain aspect of product lifecycle management. Working with outsourced manufacturers, Michelle was responsible for Supply Chain New Product Introduction Strategy, ensuring new products arrive on time, on cost and at the right quality.

 

Michelle is a BSc (Hons) graduate in Pathobiology. A competitive sailor, Michelle was a member of the RYA England Youth Squad and is an RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructor. Before joining Raymarine, Michelle was
Procurement Manager at British Sky Broadcasting, and Strategic Planning and Development Manager at Cable and Wireless Communications.
