Pope becomes Director of Engineering at Raymarine

November 2006 ~ Gordon Pope has been appointed as the Director of Engineering at Raymarine plc. He joins the company on November 22nd moving from his current position as Director of Operations at Motorola Mobile Devices in Birmingham.

 
Pope, 41, will be heading up the research and development activities at Raymarine in his role as Director of Engineering. A graduate of Queen’s College, Cambridge, Pope was with Motorola for two years; prior to that he was Director of Supply Operations at Sendo.

 
Gordon’s experience includes 14 years with Philips Consumer Electronics. In his role there he was responsible for the general management of Philips Personal Connectivity business, which included the integration of Philips Components with Bluetooth mobile accessories. He was also General Manager of Philips Consumer Communications responsible for start up, operational and financial performance of a joint venture business in Shenzhen, China; and was Business Director of Philips Consumer Communication Wired, managing the business of the analogue Wired products, and Dect cordless phones in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
