Ben Garlick of Queensland, Australia, has won a refund of the full purchase price of his award-winning Dragonfly system, as well as a Dragonfly sun cover and carrying case, by submitting the winning shot for April’s Screen Capture Competition.

The RayRemote and RayControl apps, which enable users to control e and c-Series multifunction displays wirelessly from any smartphone or tablet, are available for Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire, and can be located via the Apple iTunes App store, Google Play Store for Android, and through the Amazon Android Marketplace. The applications have been incredibly successful and popular both by users and the marine industry. The RayControl app was shortlisted at this year’s Dame Award, a worldwide award for design excellence in the marine industry.

Raymarine’s Racemaster first across the line as Geoff Carveth wins SB20 World Championships

The UON SB20 World Championships, held at Hamilton Island in December 2012, saw one of the closest fought series of races. The event concluded with Geoff Carveth’s British WKD team sailing into the SB20 class history books to be crowned SB20 world champion for the third time. With the leading SB20 boats and crews so competitively matched, one of the advantages used by Carveth was his Racemaster compass from Raymarine which provided essential data from the race course.

Nordship Yachts, the Danish-based manufacturer of cruising yachts, has launched a unique service enabling boat owners to create their own exclusive dream boat. The introduction of ‘Custom Line’ will make Nordship the world’s first ever boatyard to offer ‘one-design’, fully-customised, luxury cruising yachts from 46 feet upwards.

Odenhall succeeds Stefan Berne who has decided to ‘pass on the baton’ after many years in the marine leisure industry in Sweden. Widely respected in the boating market, Berne will be missed by customers and colleagues alike.

Raymarine launches gyro stabilised thermal night vision

Ferryside Independent Lifeboat is first to benefit from Raymarine’s new e7 technology

One of the first boats to be installed with Raymarine’s new e7 HybridTouch™ multifunction displays is the new Ferryside Independent Lifeboat. This custom built Ribcraft 6.4m lifeboat is a ‘declared facility’ and is responsible for answering 999 calls in the same way as the RNLI. The Ferryside lifeboats operate in the Carmarthenshire region, working in the extremely fast flowing and tidal waters of the Bristol Channel with its notorious mud flats and sinking sands.
