The Raymarine sponsored Skinfit, a German designed D35 multihull, has won the prestigious Rund Um 2017, which took place on Lake Constance last month against the stunning backdrop of the Alps. As one of Germany’s largest mass start races and one of the oldest freshwater regattas in Europe, the annual event attracts over 350 yachts, which race around the lake for the coveted Blue Riband.
The D35 was designed to excel in the light wind conditions found on Lake Geneva and Lake Constance and proved her strengths being the first yacht to finish the 100 km course.
The Austrian based Skinfit has a comprehensive system of wireless Raymarine equipment on board including 8 Maxis, 4 repeating each side of boat, 2 hull transmitters with TXD’s, a vertical wind TXD, a mast rotating sensor and a remote unit. Skipper Fritz Trippolt was delighted with the win and the performance of his Raymarine electronics saying “Winning the Blue Riband is the highlight of the season and we are grateful to Raymarine for providing a great system to help us win in such a competitive fleet.”
