GRIB Viewer Weather App
The new GRIB Viewer home screen app brings global weather forecasts to your Raymarine Multifunction Display.
Supported weather options include:
- Subscribe to Theyr High Resolution global weather forecasts downloaded over WiFi
- Display free standard GRIB forecast files read from a microSD card
Theyr Weather
Subscription to Theyr Weather enables you to download weather forecasts data directly to your MFD when you're connected to the internet. Once out on the water you can retrieve and play forecast data from files stored on microSD or internal memory.
Select from the following data types:
Wind speed and direction. 10m (standard)
Pressure: MSLP, mean sea level pressure
Precipitation: Total precipitation
Air Temperature: 2m (standard)
Wind speed + Direction and Wave height
Wave Height / Direction / Period: Significant height of combined wind/wave and swell.
Wind speed and direction / Pressure / Precipitation
SST: Sea Surface temperature (1.0 and 0.1 degree). Updates every 24 hours.
NEXRAD (Next generation radar): US coverage. Historical radar precipitation. Loads 25 x 10 min time step (4 hours) of the most recent historical data starting from the oldest. Resolution is 0.018 degree. Server updates every 10 minutes.
Tidal Stream: Speed and Direction of surface tidal current covering North West European continental shelf at 0.018 degree resolution. 3 days x 3 hour default and x 1 hour available via weather dialog.
Subscribe to Theyr Weather for just $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year. Subscription includes data access on the Theyr iPad app as well as Raymarine’s Voyage Planner PC software.

Connect your MFD to the internet and launch the GRIB Viewer App. Select the Free Trial button, and enter a valid email address.
Display Free GRIB forecasts
The GRIB Viewerer can be used to play compatible third party GRIB files which adhere to the following data / formats.
Download from your favorite GRIB source and save to a microSD.
Select from the GRIB Viewer My Files menu item and animate or step through the forecast.
GRIB-1 format supported
- WE:NS and WE:SN latitude-longitude grids
- Wind 10 metres above surface
- Temperature 2 metres above surface
- Surface temperature (Sea surface temperature)
- Pressure reduced to Main Sea Level
- Total accumulated precipitation
- Precipitation rate
- Tidal stream (Speed/direction of current)
- Combined Wind Waves and Swell, Wind Waves and Swell wave data

LightHouse II - GRIB Viewer Weather Ordering Information
- Purchase a Theyr weather subscription from the choices below
- Using a Raymarine Multifunction Display (compatible with Lighthouse II v17 software or later), enter the GRIB Viewer app icon from the home screen. If the GRIB Viewer app icon is not prepopulated simply add to your Home Screen using the Customize menu.
- Log-in using your charts.raymarine.com account. It is important that you have Internet connection and a GPS position fix for the weather data download. The data can later be saved for offline use.
- Activate your Theyr subscription and the data will be ready to use! Downloaded Forecast data files are saved in the internal memory or on an SD card inserted in the chartplotter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the sources of Theyr data?
Forecast data is produced from NOAA and Theyr meteorological models. Other weather data such as NEXRAD doppler radar present historical data in optimal graphical form.
Can I display multiple types of data at once?
Yes, any combination of data can be displayed at once (see sample screen captures on the Pictures section). The only exception is sea surface temperature which can be viewed only by itself.
Is high resolution data available for the entire world?
Theyr weather coverage includes most of the navigable world with the majority of the popular areas supporting even higher resolution data. There are some exceptions such as the high resolution Tidal stream data which covers only Northwest Europe at present.
